Title: Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.06%

Australian shares rose after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the utilities, consumer staples and healthcare sectors led shares higher.


At the close in Sydney, the S & P/ASX 200 was up 0.06%.


Among the best performers on the S & P/ASX 200 was Zip Co Ltd, which rose 6.00%, or 0.03 points, to close at 0.53. Meanwhile, AP Eagers Ltd gained 3.31%, or 0.35 points, to close at 10.91, while NIB Holdings added 2.82%, or 0.21 points, to 7.66 in late trading.


Kogan.com Ltd. was the worst performer, falling 9.67% or 0.29 points to close at 2.71. Perenti Global Ltd. fell 6.92%, or 0.05 points, to close at 0.61, and Nuix Ltd. dropped 5.70%, or 0.05 points, to 0.74.

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling shares outweighed rising ones by 857 to 479, and 353 ended unchanged.


Shares of Kogan.com Ltd fell to a three-year low, losing 9.67%, or 0.29, to 2.71.

The S & P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S & P/ASX 200 options, rose 1.56% to 18.24.


The AUD/USD was unchanged at 0.67, while the AUD/JPY fell 0.31% to 92.19.

The US dollar index futures rose 0.48% to 108.35.
